We Believe...

The Christian Reformed Church Denomination

…that the goal of the Christian life is summarized in the statement we have adopted as our church’s mission statement, “Delighting in God and Proclaiming the Truth in Love.”  We live in thanks to God, who graciously saved us from our sins and set us free to joyfully serve and glorify Him.  These truths are clearly revealed in Isaiah 61:10-11 and Ephesians 2:89-10, and many other Scripture passages.  This knowledge leads us to the joyful worship of God and to obey His law with great delight!

The prevalent view of our culture says there is no one religion.  In contrast, as Christians we believe there is only one true way and that is why we use a capital “T” in the word truth in our mission statement.  Truth is absolute, exclusive, and does not change, because God himself and his promises do not change.  James 1:17-18 says, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.  He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.”

We emphasize praise of the one true and Holy God through worship services that focus on His glory, with emphasis on the centrality of His Word through expository preaching, so that we may be equipped to proclaim the Truth in love.

…beliefs and doctrines are firmly based on the Holy Bible, God’s infallible written Word contained in the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments.  We believe that the Bible is uniquely, verbally and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and that it is the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks.
